Desktop wallpapers can serve as an excellent source of inspiration. However, if you use some specific wallpaper for a long period of time, it becomes harder to draw inspiration out of it. That’s why we have decided to supply you with smashing wallpapers over 12 months. And to make them a little bit more distinctive from the usual crowd, we’ve decided to embed calendars for the upcoming month. So if you need to look up some date, isn’t it better to show off a nice wallpaper with a nice calendar instead of launching some default time application?

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a typographic portrait using only Pixelmator. But what does that mean? A typographic portrait is a portrait composed of text. The technique is pretty simple. We will also play with Blending and basic filters.

The wallpaper of this week is another super cool artwork from the young self taught freelance Illustrator and Art Director Saad Moosajee. We have already featured him in the past but he has some new works that are definitely worth checking them out.

Fans of Vectortuts+ are certainly familiar with the vector tutorials of Jonathan Patterson. He’s obviously a talented vector illustrator, there is however a wide variety of work he produces in addition to his vector artwork. Jonathan is a Michigan native working as a Senior Art Director at an advertising agency. Jonathan has over five years of experience as an art director. He shares with us his experience in the creative industry and how you to can succeed.

The super cool SlashTHREE collective presents us its 13th exhibition entitled "Unleashed". As the name suggests the artists had freedom to create and unleash all their imagination to come up with over 70 fantastic arts.

Today, I’ll be talking to Damian Drohan, a fascinating portrait photographer based in Cork, Ireland. We’ll find out about his background, walk through one of his recent photo shoots, investigate a photographic workflow, and share several awesome pieces of advice for beginners to photography.
